How much is your service charge?

$75 during daylight within Polk County except Sundays. $125 Sundays, holidays, outside of Polk County and work hours.

How much is routine maintenance, and what does that include?

Routine maintenance is for systems that are currently cooling and want to stay that way. $95 includes complete run check and inspection of system, drain flush and condenser coil cleaning.

How much is your typical repair?

My basic repair, including clearing a drain, replacing a capacitor or other basic electrical components is $175.

What temperature should I leave my thermostat set at?

This is primarily a comfort question if you are home. If you are leaving the home for a couple days you can put it up to 82. If it’s going to be a month or more, I would keep it at 80 unless you have something to monitor your humidity. If no one is home during the day, I would recommend having a programmable thermostat. This can be scheduled so it stays off when no one is home and starts cooling before your typical arrival time.

How often should I change my filter?

This depends on your living situation and how restrictive the filter is. If you have pets and are using a 1” MERV 13 filter, you probably want to change it every month. If your home has less traffic and you're using a MERV 8, you may get away with changing it 1-2 times a year. I have 4 kids, a cat, and a dog and use a 4” MERV 13 filter that is supposed to last 6 months, but mine is cooked after 3 months.

What can I do to help my AC?

You can avoid discharging your lawn mower towards your condenser, keep a clean filter, and pour 1/4 cup vinegar and 1 cup water down your condensate drain once a month between March and November.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes, all repairs with the exception of a drain flush is warrantied for one year. New systems come standard with a 10 year parts warranty and a 1 year labor warranty.
